School uniform

At Shelton we pride ourselves on being smart, well presented and ready for learning. All children wear school uniform and we encourage pride in personal appearance.

Most of our uniform is low cost and available from supermarkets. Our swap shop runs every morning in the hall bagel bar — help yourself to spare items, or donate clean, good-quality uniform you no longer need.

A smart uniform helps children feel a strong sense of belonging at Shelton. We know cost is important to families, so we keep the uniform simple and our swap shop is always open.

Please remember

  • A school tie is compulsory in Year 6 and optional in Years 3-5 (with a button shirt, not a polo).
  • Long hair tied back; plain black or dark blue hair bands.
  • No large colourful accessories, make-up or nail varnish.
  • Plain black shoes or trainers without logos (not boots).
  • Plain stud earrings only.
  • No nail varnish or false/acrylic nails.

Logo items are optional from Marks & Spencer (school uniform website), Uniform Direct (Babington Lane, Derby) or online. Ties are available from Uniform Direct (clip-on) or from school (Velcro) — please contact the office.
